Artist Residency Studio Space

The Art Room is allocating 3 months a year to open its doors to other creatives that want to make time and have space to explore their own practice. Shaldon, where The Art Room is located, is a beautiful sea and riverside village in South Devon. It is a wonderful place to give you opportunity to reflect and connect with your practice in a fresh way.

Here’s some information to help you decided if this could be for you:

• The Studio is 5m x 3m, it has direct sunlight, electricity, heating, running water, wifi, sturdy trestle table, chair and a shared kitchen area and even a bicycle!

• There is a collaborative spirit with The Art Room and during the week there will be events when members from the community engaging in an adjacent space for classes. You are not obligated to participate but is open to you if you would like for no extra cost. (This will predominantly be Tuesday afternoons and evenings and Thursday mornings).

• The space has potential for direct footfall from the front door, which could be beneficial if the work you are doing requires interaction or you want to include a micro exhibition as part of your time at The Art Room.

• The residency should be from 2 weeks - 4 weeks in duration (unless you can stipulate reasons for consideration of other timelines).

• The studio is open to you 24/7

• The price indicated is for a 1 week slot. please click it for each week you intend to be on residency. (This does not include accommodation).

• Accommodation can be arranged through the convenient bed & breakfast located right next door or the numerous charming holiday lets that surround the studio.
